We promote individual choice & the community is encouraged to become involved with decisions about the Home that affect their lives.

We have close links with a resource centre & drop-in centre. Professional Mental Health workers regularly visit.

We provide regular car & minibus trips out to locations decided by the client group.

We provide opportunities to learn new skills or develop the confidence to use lost skills so as to enable individuals to move on to more independent living. St. Denys has a rehabilitation kitchen & clients are, as much as possible, involved in the activities of daily living. Clients are involved in developing their own individual care plans.

If they wish clients may nominate an advocate to become involved in the assessment of their needs and evaluation of their progress.

Clients are encouraged to join in activities outside of the Home & we work with educational & employment agencies. Contacts with the local community are likewise encouraged.

All staff receive regular training, both in-house & working towards relevant qualifications. The proprietor is a Registered Mental Nurse & an experienced teacher.
